Stuart Anderson founded Black Angus in 1964. It was located in the prestigious Los Altos area and offered its superior quality for a buck ninety-nine only.

The popularity grew until the late 1970s, turning this one restaurant into double digits and more. The steak itself had the biggest impact because it was aged for at least 21 days.

3000 customers were served each week, and this number is for a single location. When combined, it crossed millions over a month.

In 1972, Saga acquired Black Angus Steakhouse, and in 1987, Saga was acquired by Marriott. After a few years, Saga was sold off to American Restaurant Group.

At this point, Black Angus had 101 restaurants across Arizona, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, Washington, and eight more.

By the end of the 20th century, it had managed to generate a staggering $244 million in revenue. Each location had 75 employees.

That brings it to 7575; it may seem okay, but remember that it was in the early 20s. And the expense that these numbers of employees generated was massive.

By 2004, six locations were closed down to reduce some burden. But eventually, it worsened over time.

In 2004, American Restaurant Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to Black Angus being $32.5 million in debt.

The parent company itself filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on January 15, 2009. Black Angus was later purchased by Versa Capital Management, Inc.

The numbers have shrunken down drastically at this point, just a point above 50. As of July last year, the reported numbers were somewhere around 30.

The side dishes also did an awesome job of complementing them. Overall, a well-put-out one, which shows how much thought each menu took to prepare.

We saved steak for the end. Because of this burger’s name, “America’s Most Wanted,” it sounds interesting, right? Well, it should be.

That’s one of the top sellers right now and includes an 8-ounce hand-formed Angus Beef® patty and BA Burger Sauce.

Along with a panko-fried American cheese patty, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and pickles are served in between two buttered and toasted brioche buns.

Just WOW! The impressive combo and the way it’s written made my mouth water. Plus, the cheese slices were as big as the steak patty.
